الملخص
Purpose: : To study the effect corneal biomechanical properties effect on 10P measurements, and compare this to Goldman applanation tonometer (GAT) the gold standard.
Methods: : An observational cross-sectional clinical study, 180 eyes of 94 normal participants were included. All participants underwent IOP measurement by ORA and GAT. Corneal compensated 10P (10Pcc), Goldman related 10Pg , corneal hysteresis (CH) and Corneal resistance factor (CRF) were recorded. Statistical analysis of the data was performed
Results: : Mean 10P measured by GAT was 14.03±3.00mmHg. ORA measurements for 10Pg was 14.55±2.95mmHg.10Pcc ORA measurements was 16.3±3.5mmHg. The recorded values of the GAT and ORA-I0Pg were nearly similar indicating accuracy of ORA in measuring lOP. Mean difference between 10Pcc and 10Pg was 4.7mmHg , and this showed a significant negative correlation with CH. (r= -0.98)
Conclusions: : The biomechanical properties of the cornea (CH, CRF) are critical parameters that influence 10P measurements.
