Abstract
In this paper closed-form analytical expressions for obtaining the waveforms of the supply current of a 3-phase fully controlled rectifier bridge , fed from a non-ideal supply and feeding static inductive loads, are derived .
The analysis includes the three modes of operation , which are 0 < μ < π/3 ,
μ = π/3 and μ > π/3 , where μ is the overlap angle . Novel conditions for the bridge to operate in the third mode of operation , μ > π/3 , are also presented .
Experimental results to verify the theoretical results obtained , using the closed- form analytical expressions derived , are performed and close agreement between the theoretical and experimental results is noticed.
