Abstract

A method for representing an induction motor is described. The electrical differential equations are developed such that the dependent variables are the flux linkages rather than the currents. Computed results of transient torque following starting of a 2.25 kW motor are compared with results obtained by using the equations in which the currents are the dependent variables and the results obtained from the two methods are coincident.
