Abstract
A method for modelling rectifiers in single-phase rectifier circuits is presented. The method makes possible to represent the rectifier by a voltage source and thus equivalent circuits for the rectifier circuits are derived. The analysis of the rectifier circuits will thus be reduced to that of linear circuits. The method was tested by applying it to a variety of single-phase rectifier circuits supplying inductive loads. The results obtained from this method were compared with results obtained from the conventional method of analysis, and very good agreement was obtained.
