Abstract
In this paper an approach to determine the parameters of the equivalent circuit of a photovoltaic module and other parameters that are needed to determine the performance characteristics of the module is presented.
The approach presented is based on the electrical parameters specified by the manufacturer of the photovoltaic module. To validate the approach presented in this paper the I-U characteristics of a photovoltaic module were computed by the proposed approach and the results were compared with those given by the manufacturer and, almost, the two sets of results were identical.
