Abstract
In this papel; a closed-fonn solution of the petjiormance of a three-phase voltage-source, six-step inverter feeding
a three-phase static inductive load is presented. Analytical expressions for the steady-state currents of the system
are derived from which the pe$ormunce ofthe system can be investigated. Explicit formulae for the current ratings
of the switching elements, whether thyristors, transistors or diodes used in the system are derived.
