Abstract
The paper presents an analysis of the performance of n three-phase, fully-controlled bridge rectifier feeding
static active loads, when the AC supply feeding the bridge is non-ideal. The modes of operation of the system,
which depend on the overlap angle, arefully investigated. Closed-form analytical expressions from which the
performance characteristics can be obtained are derived without any approximation either in the shape ofthe
load-current waveforms or in the in the shape of the current during the overlap periods.
