Abstract
A simple method for evaluating current harmonics of
single-phase thyristor controlled inductive loads is presented.
In this method current harmonics are derived directly from
the relationships obtained for the voltage harmonics. Also,
expressions for the supply and load powers are given. Computed results obtained by this method for the r.m.s load current are coincident with theoretical results obtained by using the conventional approach. Consequently the time required for computing the load current harmonics and the power are greatly reduced as compared with the conventional method in which current harmonics are derived independently of the voltage harmonies.
