A closed-form analytical expressions for current in a variety of single-phase rectifier and controlled-rectifier circuit feeding inductive load are obtained . Using these expressions transient as well as steady-state current can be obtained directly without the need to the conventional methods in which current must be calculated step by step and thus considerable time obtaining the current is saved .
