The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program based on family counseling in decreasing alexithymia among mother of children with autism. The sample of the study consisted of ten mothers of the children with autism divided equally into experimental group and controlled group. The study tools included Toronto alexithymia scale translated by the researcher, and the program based on family counseling prepared by the researcher. The study approach is represented in the semi-empirical approach. The results of the study indicated that:
 There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post- assessment on Toronto alexithymia scale for the control group.
 There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group scores in the reassessment and post assessment on Toronto alexithymia scale for the favor of post assessment.
 There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of post assessment and follow-up assessment (one month after the end of the program) on Toronto alexithymia scale.
