Abstract

OBJECTIVE:
To determine the predictive value of serum and urinary NGAL in the detection of AKI in asphyxiated neonates.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS
Serum and uNGAL were measured in forty full term>37 week, both sexes, neonates had clinical and laboratory findings of perinatal asphyxia according to the criteria defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics and 20 apparently healthy neonates matched for gestational age and birth weight as a control group, in the neonatal intensive care unit of Benha university hospital within 24 hours after birth using ELISA.
