Abstract
Parasitic infections in Benha;Qalubiya Govenorate is a real problem as about 71.5% of the randomised samples visiting Benha University Hospital were suffering from parasitic infections .This study showed that not all types of parasitic infections are equally prevalent .Entamoeba histolytica infection was the commonest; schistosomiasis; ascariasis; and Hymenolepiasis nana showed moderate prevalence .While ancylostomiasis ,enterobiasis, trichuriasis, trichostrongliasis, taeniasis and giardiasis showed relatively low incidence. Many of the infected patients had distressing related symptoms and shoed overt clinical signs. Males and females were found almost equally affected .The age of group 1-20 years showed the highest incidence of infections. Also many infected patients gave history of repeated antiparasitic treatment ,indicating that repeated infections were not uncommon reflecting unsanitary conditions or unsound hygienic habits .Multiplicity of infections might be also support this condition
