Abstract

This paper describes the performance of a stand-alone self-excited induction generator (SEIG) when driven by a matched variable-speed wind turbine. The behaviour of the system is fully investigated for different loads of thee generator by employing the power curve of the wind-turbine-SEIG system. The results were obtained when the capacitance required to ensure self excitation for certain operating speed and parameters is used.
