Abstract

Traditionally, laparoscopic procedures were carried out under General Anesthesia due to the pulmonary functions’ changes occurred as a result of pneumoperitoneum, which is a crucial step of laparoscopy and GA can achieve accurate control of ventilation. However, the use of Local Anesthesia associated with conscious sedation has been emerged recently as an alternative tool for laparoscopy to overcome complications of GA.
