Abstract
The worm lizards Diplometopon zarudnyi eat a wide variety of invertebrates; most of which are arthropods but they take significant amounts of vertebrates. They are are apportunist feeders as other lizards. The digestive tract histological structures confirms essentially to the basic reptilian plan, but its histological architecture shows a certain modification and confirms that Amphisbaenia can be considered as a separate suborder of Squamata. In the present study, the relation between the digestive tube anatomy and its function is discussed.
