Abstract
Two field experiments were carried out during 1988 and 1989 seasons at the agricultural Research and Experimental station, Fac. of Agric., Moshtohor. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of GA3 (0, 80 and 160 ppm) Zn at rates of 0, 0.6 % as foliar application on growth and yield of maize. Foliar application of GA3 up to 80 ppm significantly increased plant height, leaf area, ear length, car weight of grains/ear, 'weight of grains/ plant, 100-grain weight and grain yield per faddan. On the other hand, number of days from planting to tasseling and silking dates significantly decreased by foliar application of GA3. In addition foliar applica¬tion of Zn or Mn significantly increased growth characters (plant height, ear position, LA) ear characters (ear length, ear diameter, ear weight), 100-grain weight, grain yield per plant and faddan Moreover, the interaction effects were discussed.
