Abstract
The Laplace integral transform technique in spherical coordinates is used in solving the problem of heating a semi-infinite target induced by surface absorption of a spatial and temporal laser pulse profile.
Mathematical expression for the temperature distribution in the target is obtained, considering the cooling, the temperature dependent absorption coefficient of the irradiated surface. As an illustrative example computations were carried out on a semi-infinite target of (Al) target.
