The present work aimed to evaluate the malformations in the skeletal system of 18-days old mice fetuses maternally treated with therapeutic doses of sofosbuvir and daclatasvir. The used low and high therapeutic doses were calculated for mice and of both sofosbuvir (SOF) and daclatasvir (DCV) were calculated for mice and were found to be (80 & 160 mg/kg of body weight) and (8 & 16 mg/kg of body weight) respectively. The pregnant mice were divided into four groups; the control group (C) and three experimental groups (G1, G2 & G3). The pregnant mice of the control group received normal saline solution. Each experimental group was divided into two sub-groups for treatment with low and high doses of sophosbuvir and/or daclatasvir from day 6 to day 12 of gestation. In the treated groups, the therapeutic doses of sofosbuvir and/or daclatasvir were found to affect the fetal growth, by thebody weight and body length of the developing 18-days old fetuses.Also,the number of the developing fetuses was decreased.The common skeletal malformations of 18-days old fetuses maternally treated with sofosbuvir and/or daclatasvir were noticed in some bones arises either by intramembraneous or by endrochondral ossification.
