الملخص
Introduction :
The aim of this paper is to explore the overall development of the natural protected petrified forests, and to prepare for tourism and guard tourist exploitation.
This paper propose to study two sites, one of which is in Egypt at El Maadi – a suburb of Cairo, and the other in Segri district in the island of Lesvos Greece.
THE PROBLEM :
During my visit of the Petrified Forest in Signy in 1998, and through my discussions with the Director of the Petrified Forest, it has appeared to me that there are several problems facing the Protectorate. Some of them are related to the site, in terms of the sharp elevations, the climate and its negative effects on the trunks of petrified trees, birds and plants.
The other problems include the continuous universe of the numbers of tourists as well as the accompanying negative behaviours which affect the natural protectorate and the requirements of the amenities for the visits.
Through this research paper I present some recommendations in the form of a layout and architectural designs which I think that they will participate in developing some solutions to cover the requirements of such type of natural protectorate site, either in Greece or in Egypt.
