Abstract

A sample of (27) male and (34) female out patients of Mental hospital of Alex, participated in the study. They are suffering from depression and long history of physical abuse and received psychoanalytical, behavioral, cognitive and humanist treatment. Another sample of (106) patents shared the first group in all traits except that the second one lived in the country. Depression test, Global severity index used and applied on the sample. Comparisons made between the participate, the findings show that females are more depressed than males in the clinical sample. The physical abuse was more common among females and it was very clear from historical background. High physical abuse was correlated with higher levels of depressions among the participate
