Abstract
Sigle-phase induction motors are widely used in many applications. Improvements in it performance means a great saving in electrical enegy consumption. An inverter fedvariable frequency motor is a typical example ofthis improvement. In this regard, the paper presents a comprehensive analysis to the performance of the single-phase induction motor when it is fed with an inverter. Dynamic models and analysis of the motor behavior during transient and steady state phases are presented. A speed controlerbase on slip frequency technique is proposed. The controlled motor exhibited better performance both at staring and steady state.
