Abstract
Nitric oxide (No) donners are used topicaly for treatment of impotence. This use
leads to contamination of ejaculated sperms with this ug.nt, ond also there is a
chance of diffrrsion of these agents to the embryo 1if ii is p*;rr0. Tliis rvork ras designed to evalulate the effect of nitroglycerin adhesi'e patches
(nitroderm TTS-5) r,vhich is a donner of No used topiiaty on hu.ran permatozao
and rat's enbrvo.
Semen samples lvere obtained from fertile donners, patients with varicocele and paitents l'ith chronic prostatis each- sarnple rvas examined for viability and mortalig' in presence or in absence of nitrogtycerin. Samples from feriile males
r.r,ere examined for vialbility and motility in presence of Nitroglycerin or Ham fl0.
Nitroglvcerin imporoved viability and motility of sperms ouialneo from fertile
