الملخص
The objective of this study was to evaluate the tomato pomace as non conventional protein source in Nile tilapia diet in terms of growth, feed conversion, dressing percentage, economical evaluation and histopathological response. Nile tilapia were fed four experimental diet in which the first was the control group and the other diets contained 25, 50, 75% dried tomato pomace respectively. All diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric. The results of this experiment showed that there were significant difference in weight gain, weight gain% specific growth rate, feed conversion, dressing percentage and economical evaluation between control and those fed dietary treatment. The histopathological studies of liver, intestine, spleen, gills and stomach revealed some histological changes between control and experimental group. The use of tomato pomace meal as unconventional protein source instead of soybean meal may give a partial solution of feed shortage and to prepare relatively cheap and balanced diet.
