Abstract
In this paper, a closed-form solution of the performance of a three-phase voltage-source, six-step inverter feeding a three-phase static inductive load is presented. Analytically expressions for the steady-state currents of the system are derived from which the performance of the system can be investigated. Explicit formulae for the current ratings of the switching elements, whether , thyristors, transistors or diodes used in the system are derived.
