Abstract

A Total of 102 persons were studied for schistosomiasis by Dot-ELISA technique using adult freez thaw antigen (AFT). Anti (AFT) IgG or IgM antibodies levels were detected among 51 out of 102 cases (26 with acute schistosomiasis, 19 with chronic schistosomiasis and only 6 of 36 with other parasitic diseases). Non of the 20 controls were positive for AFT antibodies. Dot-EISA for schistosomiasis serodiagnosis reveals that the sensitivity, spectificity predictive values of positive and negative tests to be 100%, 90%, 88%, and 100% respectively.
