Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to assess the results of double bundle MPFL reconstruction in management of recurrent lateral patellar dislocations.
Patients and methods: Twenty-five knees in 19 patients were operated upon. Autogenous gracilis graft was fixed at the femoral side using interference screws, and at the patellar side using incomplete tunnels and bone groove in the medial half of the patella.
Results: The average age at surgery was 28.2 years (range, 19 to 36 years). Average follow-up period was 32.16 (±5.8) months. At final follow-up, average postoperative Lysholm score improved significantly from 58.88 (±5.87) to 90.68 (±2.77) (p
