Abstract
Two Field experiments were conducted during 1992/93 and 1993/94 seasons at the Agricultural Research Center, Faculty of Agriculture at Moshtohor Zagazig University to study the effect of different tillage treatments plowing once or twice, Moldboard plowing at two depths each in with subsoiling- as well as the no-till) for comparison on the productivity and associated weeds of wheat, as well as soil properties. Results revealed that Subsoiling with moldboard plowing at two depths { 18-20 cm and showed the lowest value of bulk density and the highest soil porosity Moreover, the lowest values of soil salinity were recorded with the combination of applied subsoils fig treatments. Moldboard plowing at a depth of 28-30 cm and subsoiling using moldboard plowing at both depths (18-20 and 28-30 cm) were the most successful in the substantial decrease in weeds infestation. The highest values in grain and straw yields of wheat and its attributes as numbers of tillers and spikes/m2, 1000 -grain weight, spike length, spike weight and grain weight were recorded when using moldboard (at 18 -20 cm and 28-30 cm ) as well as subsoiling + moldboard at the same depths.
