N-Antipyryl acrylamide monomer [2, 3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-oxo-3-pyrazolin-4-
ylacryloylamine) was synthesized by the reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with either acryloyl
chloride or acrylic acid in the presence of N, N′-dicyclohexyl carbodiimide as the
dehydrating agent. Binary copolymerizations of this new monomer with methyl acrylate, ethyl
