Abstract
Phagocytic function was examined in 30 diabetic patients and compared with 10 normal individuals and 10 nondiabetic, but have urinary tract infections using latex particles.
This study revealed significant decrease (P<0.001) in phagocytic capacity in diabetics and this impairment was marked in uncontrolled diabetics and diabetics with urinary tract infections. The phagocytic capacity was high (P<0.001) in non-diabetic patients with urinary tract infection which may be due to healthy immune
system.
