Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy and safety of transdermal glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and iv, ritodrine as tocolytics. METHODS: 60 ivomen admitted in preterm labour befrveen 24 and 3-4 weeks gestation were divided randomly into 2 equal groups. Both groups were comparable regarding age, parity, gestational age and cervical dilatation at admission. Group I was treated by transdermal GTN patches and group 11 was treated by Lv. ritodrine. RESVL TS: Both methods were similar in suppressing preterm labour pains (p > 0.05). Transdermal GTN group had more headach. (p
