Abstract
Serum levels of TNFa and IL.6 was studied in fifteen rheumatoid arthritis patients, their ages ranged between 30-63 years with a mean age of 48±9.6 . Another eleven healthy subjects were chosen as control group . The aim of the study was to Correlate TNFa and IL-6 with clinical indicators of disease activity . There was significant in¬crease in serum level of TNFa and IL-6 in rheumatoid arthritis patients as compared to control group . Also in patients with rheumatoid arthritis serum levels of TNFa and IL-6 correlated positively with clinical variables of disease activiety . We concluded that the measurement of TNFa and IL-6 in serum seemed to provide a good index as acute phase reactant and also yield more direct reflection of Joints inflammation and destruction compared with markers of inflammation
