Abstract

Pediatric patients in critical units sometimes are in need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during emergency situations, nurses in such areas must have competent level of knowledge and skills regarding CPR. Aim: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of training program for nurses regarding pediatric CPR on their knowledge and performance. Setting: The study was conducted in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) and Pediatric Emergency department at Benha University Hospital. Design: The study utilized quasi-experimental research design. Sample: A convenient sample of 56 nurses was enrolled in this study. Tools: Tools of data collection included; I- Structured interview questionnaire to assess nurses' knowledge regarding pediatric CPR. II- Observational checklist to assess nurses’ performance regarding pediatric CPR procedure.
