Abstract
In this paper the effect of the load phase angle and the triggering angle on the power components of a 3-phase, fully-controlled rectifier bridge feeding a static inductive load is investigated. Both AC and DC sides of the bridge are studied. The power factor of the AC supply is obtained for several loading conditions, and the maximum power factor, corresponding to the full elimination of the reactive power component of the AC side, is investigated.
