Abstract

Gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRIg) considered the best of the important diagnostic tools for cases presenting with unilateral tinnitus mainly after improvement of its cost-effectiveness, the limitation of auditory brainstem response (ABR) and computed tomography (CT) as screening tools for vestibular schwannoma that detect small tumors is recognized and there is a strong argument for using MRIg as an initial investigation. This report describes the findings in a group 40 patients presenting with unilateral tinnitus who underwent MRIg, 6 patients (15%) had positive findings, of them two had vestibular schwannoma (5%), two had intracranial carotid artery aneurysm (5%), one had arachnoid cyst (2.5%) and one had glomus jugulare tumor (2.5%). تاريخ النشر 2001 Zagazig Medical Journal :
