Abstract
Antisymmetric angle-ply thin skew laminated plates are analyzed utilizing the finite element technique. A finite element program based on an isoparametric laminated triangular element is especially developed for the small displacement analysis of thin angle-ply laminated composite plates. The effect of anisotropy as well as the plate's aspect ratio on the bending behavior of skew laminated plates is presented. The plate is subject to a uniformly distributed load and is studied for a variety of skew angles. The effect presented herein will yield a general treatment to this class of problems, since the literature contains only special classes of bidirectional and multi-layered composites.
