Abstract

In this paper, arithmetic Fuzzy Logic (AFL) is proposed for controlling hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). A FLC is used to achieve the desired speed from the actual speed within very short time and much less memory usage. In HEV the required load torque and for onboard accessories is generated by a combination of internal-combustion engine (ICE) and electric motor. Therefore, we are dealing with a highly nonlinear and time varying plant. The control strategy will be implemented using the SIMULINK/ MATLAB software package. Analysis of induction motor (IM) with FL at variable load torque and speed is given.
