Abstract
The research aims to find out the most important reasons that led researchers in the field of water sports to join postgraduate studies, and the effect of obtaining a practical degree (MA - PhD) on working life. The researcher used the descriptive method, as it suits the nature of the research. The research population consists of the total of researchers who obtained two degrees (Master - Doctorate) in the field of water sports from 2014 to 2019. The research sample was chosen intentionally, and to collect data the researcher used the personal interview and the open questionnaire to build the questionnaire. The results indicated that postgraduate studies have an important impact on researchers in general, and this is evident through their influence on their working lives, such as an increase in salary, career advancement, or obtaining better job opportunities. Postgraduate studies help researchers to acquire some important skills that help them in performing their work better, and the researcher attributes this to the fact that the scientific thinking that researchers acquire with postgraduate programs helps them make better decisions. While the absence of opportunities for workers abroad to hold a master’s and doctorate. Also, interest and passion for scientific research are not a priority for researchers . The most important recommendations came in the necessity of reviewing the regulations and programs of graduate studies in a way that suits the nature and requirements of the labor market. And encourage researchers to choose research topics related directly to the nature of their work. And studying the labor market, Egypt came out and knowing its requirements, which helps in developing graduate programs to create job opportunities for researchers
