Abstract
A greenhouse experiment was conducted in Agriculture. Research. Center, Giza to study: 1) the effect of Fe, Zn and Mn on some growth parameters of wheat (Triticum aestivum., cv. Giza 168) and bean (Vicia fabe L., cv. Nubaria 1) 2) the uptake of Fe, Zn and Mn by plants. Two soils were used i.e. a non calcareous clay collected from El-Kalubia governorate and a calcareous sand clay loam collected from El-Nubaria. Fe, Zn and Mn were applied at a rate of 20 mg kg-1 either solely or in different combinations before sowing. At harvesting, dry weights of straw as well as those of bean seeds and wheat grains were determined. Fe, Zn and Mn uptake were determined in straw and seeds (or grains) of both bean and wheat plants. Dry weight of straw and grain yield of wheat straw, pods and seeds of bean increased due to fertilization with the studied micronutrients in both soils. Addition of any of the studied nutrients elevated its corresponding uptake by straw and seeds or grains
