Abstract

Two pot experiments were carried out in the experimental farm of Fac. of Agric. At Moshtohor in two successive winter seasons of 1990/1991 and 1991/1992 to study the effect of saline water containing either Na-chloride or sulfate at 6000 and 9000 ppm in addition to the control as well as spraying pea plants with GA3 at 0, 50 and 100 ppm on plant growth, chemical composition, of plant foliage, flowering, pod yield per plants and its components as well as chemical composition of produced green seeds Obtained results indicated that, using Na-salts solution in irrigation had a depressive effect on vegetative growth pf pea plants expressed as plant height, number of leaves and fresh and dry weight per plant, chemical constituents of plant foliage (chlorophyll a and b, N , P and K), flowering parameters (flowering date, position of the first flower node and number of followers per plant), yield and its components (pod weight, number of weight of pod per plant and number of seeds per pod). Spraying pea plants grown under salinity stress with GA3 especially on all studied growth parameters, chemical composition of plant foliage, flowering and pod yield as well as chemical composition of produced seeds.
