EL-RIDF and A.F. EL--FAKAHANY°° Departments of Parasitology and Pathology FacultIes of Medicine, Benha, Cairo and Zagazig°° Universities, Egypt. ABSTRACT The effect of some chemotherapeutics, on the course of acute toxoplasmosis in experimentally infected mice was studied. Obtained results showed that, praziquantel, levamisole had no effect on acute toxoplasmosis, while trimethoprime phamethoxazol and clindamycine showed some prophylactic effect on acute toxoplasmosis in mice. INTRODUCTON Toxoplasma gondii is a widely distributed zoonotic infection with different manifestations. Extensive animal experimentation were preformed to obtain the effective antitoxoplasma agents (El Rifaie, 1974, Harper, 1985).
