Abstract
The rectus ahdominis myocutaneous (RAM) flap is ideally suited to re-.
pair defects over the chest, abdomen, groin and upper thigh.
In this work, the RAM Jlap was used in 20 cases during the period
from Nov. 1996 to Aug. 2000 .to repair defects on chest (16 cases), defects
in groin and upper thigh (3 cases), and in one case the defect was on the
lateral aspect of gluteal region. Among the 20 cases.complete survival of
the flap with no complications occured in 14 cases, minimal necrosis
(less than 10% of the flap) occurred in 2 cases, mild infection in donor site
in 2 cases, mild infection in recepient site in one case and seroma collec
tion in donor site in one case
