Abstract
Application of advanced composite materials to concrete s t r u c t u r e s has s i g n i f i c a n t l y increased over t h e last few years. I n t h i s study. an a n a l y t i c a l procedure capable of predicting t h e f l e x u r a l response of beams and plane frames i ncor por a t i ng FRP has been developed. The f o r mulati ons performed allow standard element s t i f f n e s s method to be used i n a nonlinear course by i n t r o d u c i n g s e c a n t s t i f f n e s s f a c t o r s . An i t e i a t i ve s o l u t i o n process. using layered clement approach. is c a r r i e d out i n determining e f f e c t i v e member s t i f f n e s s .
