Abstract
The Acari fauna of the foodstuffs in Qualubia were studied in a total of 429 collected samples . The highest infestation rate was recorded on onion , cowpea, clover seeds , sunflower seeds, peanut and lupines. Thirty-one surveyed mite species were identified in the various samples of these 10 species in 3 families belong to Astigmata. One species in one family belong to Tarsonemina. 17 species in 7 families belong to Mesostigmata, and 3 species belong to prostigmata . Members of the families Cheyletidae , Podocinidae, Glycyphagidae and Acaridae were the most common mites , found in many samples .
