Abstract

This study was carried out at Experimental Station of Agricultural Botany Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Moshtohor during 2003 and 2004 seasons on squash plant cv. Eskandarani. Seeds of Squash were soaked for 12 hours in calcium chelate at 125,250 & 500ppm, potassium citrate at 125,250 & 500ppm, boric acid at 10, 25& 50 ppm and water(control). The main obtained results could be summarized as following: - -The treatments gave the highest parameters of germination% and rate compared with the control especially, Ca at 500 ppm. -The treatments gave the highest values of vegetative growth, photosynthetic pigments content and nutritional status compared with the control. -The best results of flowering and yield were obtained from Ca at 250 &500ppm followed by B at 50ppm treatments. -The treatments increased number and weight of early and total fruit per plant as well as early yield (%)and relative total yield (%) at the two seasons compared with those of the control treatment especially, Ca at 500 ppm. -As for physical and chemical fruit quality, treatments of Ca at 250 ppm &500ppm followed by B at 50ppm gave highest values for different quality characteristics. -For the anatomical, several alternations were existed with different applied treatments. The treatments gave the highest parameters of root, stem, petiole and leaf anatomy compared with the control.
