Abstract
Two field experiments were carried out in 2001 and 2002 seasons at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Moshtohor, to investigate the effect of two bioagents, i.e. Tricoderma harzianum and Bacillus subtilis, one fungicide, i.e. Benlate- 50 alone (as seed dressing) before sowing as well as fertilizing with low amounts of some macro-elements (N and P) on green pod yield and its components, as well as pod physical characters and nutritive value of snap bean pods (Phaseolus vulgaris, L.) cv. Bronco. Obtained results show that, inoculated seeds with Tricoderma or Benlate-50 were the most effective treatments, which resulted in the highest values of green pod quality and yield and its components (length, diameter and fresh weight of pod, number of pods and green pod yield/plant and total green pod yield/fed.) as well as the nutritive value of green pods or chemical constituents (N, K percentage and uptake and total carbohydrates percentage). Such results were true at both seasons of this study. In addition, Bacillus treatment resulted in the highest values of P concentration and its uptake of pods. Using the levels 20 kg N/fed. combined with 31 kg P2Os/fed. produced the highest values of different studied characteristics of green pod quality and yield and its components as well as pod nutritive value. The interaction effect of Tricoderma or Benlate-50 within higher used level of NP fertilizers (20 N+ 31 P2Oj kg/fed.)resulted in the highest values of most studied characters specially green pod yield per plant and fed.
