Abstract
Our study included 20 children suffering from chronic tonsillitis, aged between 5-15 years of both sexes (11 males and 9 females), from outpatient clinic of E.N.T. unit at Benha Faculty of Medicine. Those children underwent tonsillectomy and the tonsils were examined histopathologically.
Histopathological examination showed, the presence of partial ulceration of the epithelium, follicular hyperplasia, chronic inflammatory cellular infiltration, cryptogenic debris and in few cases generalized diffuse atrophy of all tonsillar components with subsequent fibrosis.
