Abstract
Thirty patients with chronic suppurative otitis media were the supjects of this study . Smears taken from ear discharge were inoculated , aerobically and anaerobically . Out of 30 aerobic cultures , 22 pure cases were ioslated, 3 cases had mixed infection and 3 showed no growth . The isolated organism were 40 % staph . aureus , 20 % Pseudomonas , 13% E. coli , 10% diphtheria , 10% Klebsiella and 6.7% staph . albus . Nine cases (30 % ) had bacteroid fragilis and 2 cases (6.7% ) had bacteroid melaningenicus . Antibiogram was per¬formed for different isolates.
