Abstract
The study was conducted on fifty patients presented to E . N . t. outpatient clinic of Benha University Hospital, with unilateral chronic suppurative olitis media (mucosal type). The affected ears were considered as a study gnoup and the normal ears as a control group . Those patients were examined clinically and audiologically using pure tone audiometry with masking , to asses sensorineural hearing, loss in patients suffering from chronic suppurative olitis media in Qaliubiya region . From our work we concluded that, chronic mucosal otitis media causes significant sensorineural hearing loss and this loss was higher in patients with longer duration of the disease and those with frequent use of antibiotic ear drops . The loss was greater in higher frequencies .
