Abstract
To study the effect of nasal packing on Eustachian tube function two groups of patients , one with anterior and one with posterior packing , were submitted to repeated tyrnpanomet-ric examination . In both , a significant decrease of middle ear pressure, more with posterior packing, was found 24 hours after application. Return to preoperative levels started 24 hours after removal of packing to be completed a week later. Different palhogenetic possi-bilities are discussed.
