Abstract
Protein C deficiency is one of the major inhibitors of the coagulation system and associated with an
increased risk of venous thrombosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the intervention study for
nurse's performance regarding care of infants with protein C deficiency. A quasi-experimental design was used.
This study was carried out at Benha specialized hospital of for Children affiliated to Ministry of Health. A
convenient sample included all nurses (50), who are working at Benha Specialized Hospital the Children. Tools of
data collection: Two tools were used; Tool I: A structured interviewing questionnaire, which consists of four parts:
Part (1 ) Nurses' characteristics, Part (2): Nurses' knowledge about Protein C deficiency (PCD),Part (3): Nurses`
knowledge regarding Protein C and its function, Part (4): Nurses` knowledge regarding management, Tool II:
Nurses' practice sheet. Results indicated a highly statistically significant difference observed between the studied
nurses total knowledge and practice regarding Protein C deficiency at pre and post of the intervention
